About

Through this collaborative effort, Project JUNTOS will help low-income, unwed expecting parents or low income unwed new parents (New parents are defined as the biological parent of a child three months of age or younger) in Imperial County to meet and achieve personal and family well-being. This recently awarded project plans to serve 100 individuals/families on an annual basis.

“...Finally, preliminary research shows that marriage education workshops can make a real difference in helping married couples stay together and in encouraging unmarried couples who are living together to form a more lasting bond.  Expanding access to such services to low income couples, perhaps in concert with job training and placement, medical coverage, and other services already available, should be something everybody can agree on...” President Barack Obama, Audacity of Hope, 2006, p. 334

Project JUNTOS is funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HSS).
